Feel like you've tried everything?
There are two pathways medications don't touch.

- Spravato & TMS Depression Treatment
Spravato™ and EXOMIND™ ExoTMS Therapy are FDA-approved treatments designed specifically for people with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) who have tried two or more antidepressants that have not worked. They target and act on completely different parts of your brain.

You've done everything they told you.
Took the medication. Waited the required weeks. Switched when it didn’t work. Adjusted the dose. Tried a new doctor. Tried another new medication. And somewhere along the way you started wondering if the problem was you?
"I used to run a department. Now I can barely manage my inbox. I don't recognize myself."
Healthcare administrator, age 44 — On medical leave
"I don't want to die. I just want to stop feeling like this. I want to be myself again."
Miltary, age 48 — Years of failed medications
"I sat through my daughter's school play and felt absolutely nothing. I couldn't even fake it anymore."
Nurse, age 38 — Five prior medications
- What you have is a recognized medical condition. Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) affects 1 in 3 people diagnosed with depression.
- Two or more antidepressants that haven’t worked isn’t a streak of bad luck — it’s a documented medical diagnosis.
- This is not a character flaw. Your brain chemistry may be working against you, not the other way around.
Your medications weren't failing you.
They were aimed at the wrong thing.
Most antidepressant you’ve tried target the same pathway: serotonin. For 1 in 3 patients, serotonin is not the primary problem.
Serotonin pathway
Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac, Effexor, Wellbutrin — all the same mechanism, all aimed at the same target. The one that isn’t the problem for you.
Glutamate pathway
Your brain’s primary communication system. When it breaks down, the brain can’t form new patterns or regulate mood. That’s what Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) looks like biologically.
Left dorsal-lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC)
This area of the brain is involved in attention, mood regulation, memory, decision-making, and self-control/addiction. TMS increases brain stimulation, improving depression.
Up to 80% of TRD patients respond to Spravato™ or EXOMIND™ ExoTMS even after everything else has failed. It’s not a miracle. It’s a different mechanism, finally aimed at the right target.
Many patients feel a meaningful shift within two weeks. Not eight weeks. Two weeks. When you’ve been waiting years, that matters.
Dr. Karthik Rao
Dr. Karthik Rao grew up in Centerville and spent the next two decades at the outer edges of medicine – global public health, critical access hospitals, Level-1 trauma centers across the country, and a fellowship at Duke in point-of-care ultrasound. He trained at Wright State, completed residency at Kettering Health, and built his clinical skills in the environments where the margin for error is zero.
And kept seeing the same thing. Patients arriving in crisis who had been in the mental health system for years. Medicated. Technically managed. Never actually better. The ER stabilizes. It doesn’t heal. That gap – between surviving and actually thriving – is what brought him back to Dayton to build something different.
As a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and Medical Director at New Life Wellness, Dr. Rao brings the same clinical precision developed in the highest-acuity settings in medicine to a problem most physicians never slow down enough to solve.

Ryan Chanatry, LPC
Ryan Chanatry is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University. His clinical training runs deep: EMDR, Parts Work (Internal Family Systems informed), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a CCTP-II – one of the highest-level certifications available in complex trauma treatment. He’s also a Certified Grief Informed Professional and holds specialized training in end-of-life psychedelic care. That’s the new world. Then there’s the other half.
Ryan traveled to Peru and trained under Hamilton Souther – a master shaman and founder of Blue Morpho Academy, one of the most respected plant medicine programs in the world. He earned formal certification to sit, guide, and integrate experiences with visionary medicines. What the old world has understood for centuries – and Western medicine is only beginning to catch up to – he brought back to Dayton.
For people who’ve done the therapy, taken the medications, and still feel like something essential was never quite reached – Ryan is the kind of therapist people don’t expect to find in Dayton. The kind they’d fly somewhere else to sit with.

Getting treatment may not risk your security clearance or certifications. Humana/Tricare covers Spravato.
We handle all prior authorization. Call us directly with specific questions — we give straight answers, not corporate disclaimers.
A session, start to finish. No surprises.
Not knowing what to expect is one of the biggest reasons people don’t call. Here’s exactly what a session looks like.
You arrive. We check in.
Blood pressure check. A brief conversation about how you're doing. No rushing, no clinical cold shoulder.
Your own private room.
A comfortable recliner. Quiet space. Not a waiting room, not a group experience.
You self-administer the nasal spray. We monitor you.
Within 20–30 minutes you may notice a mild dissociative sensation. Expected, temporary, and monitored throughout.
You rest for about two hours.
The sensation fades. Vitals are checked before you leave. You'll need a ride home that day.
Twice weekly for four weeks, then spaced out.
Based on your response. Most patients notice meaningful changes within two weeks- not months.
REMS-certified · Trauma trained team present · FDA-approved protocol · Non-invasive monitoring
We're going to be straight with you.
For most patients, meaningful improvement isn’t euphoria. It’s getting out of bed without dread. Making it through a workday. Being present in a conversation. Not a transformed life — just access to your own life again.
For the 10-20% where Spravato or TMS doesn’t produce that shift, other evidence-based options remain available. If we don’t get you a meaningful response, we keep trying. That’s a commitment, not a footnote.
