TRT + GLP-1/GIP Metabolic Optimization Program
At New Life Wellness, we’re proud to offer an advanced hormone and metabolic optimization program that combines Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) with GLP-1/GIP*–based weight loss therapy — all under the supportive, root-cause care of functional medicine (if desired).
What You Get With This Program
- Intramuscular Testosterone Cypionate (IM): Weekly Weekly injections tailored to your specific lab results and symptoms for stable, optimized hormone levels.
- Subcutaneous Tirzepatide + Levocarnitine: A powerful GLP-1/GIP–based solution that supports appetite control, insulin sensitivity, and fat burning; Levocarnitine enhances fat transport into cells so your body burns fat more efficiently.
- Baseline Labs: We check a comprehensive hormone and metabolic panel — including total & free testosterone, SHBG, LH/FSH, estradiol, CBC, metabolic panel, lipids, and thyroid tests — so we can personalize your therapy from day one.
How much does this cost?
- Initial consultation requires a $250 fee, which covers your first lab work.
- After that, you’ll enroll in our $350 /month autopay plan. This includes your Tirzepatide + Levocarnitine, ongoing IM testosterone, and all follow-up labs needed to monitor your progress and safety.
*The FDA has not approved or reviewed the use of TRT or GLP-1/GIP for benefits outside of current FDA-cleared or FDA-approved uses.
Optional — Functional Medicine Root-Cause Investigation
If you want to go deeper, you can add our Functional Medicine Root-Cause Program to this plan for a more comprehensive approach:
- Adrenal Stress Profile + Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR): Chronic stress and elevated cortisol can suppress natural testosterone production, disrupt metabolism, and increase belly fat. This test helps us evaluate your stress hormone patterns.
- GI-MAP Stool Test: Examine your gut for inflammation, dysbiosis, and permeability — factors that can impair hormone production and metabolic health. By addressing not just your symptoms, but the root causes behind low testosterone and weight struggles, you’ll get more stable, long-term results.Along with testosterone therapy (TRT) in Dayton, OH, we also offer peptide therapy, medication management, and NAD+ therapy to support your energy, focus, and long-term wellness goals.

Why Go the Functional Medicine Route Instead of “TRT Only”?
- TRT-only can raise your testosterone, helping with energy, libido, and recovery — but you may still carry stubborn fat, especially around your midsection.
- Adding GLP-1 therapy helps you burn fat, tame cravings, and improve insulin sensitivity — all things that support metabolic health.
- Going further with our functional medicine add-on means we’re not just treating your hormones — we’re healing your system. Chronic stress, gut dysfunction, and nutrient deficiencies can all derail hormone balance and metabolism. Testing these areas gives us the insights to correct them for real, sustainable change.
- Discounted rate of combining functional medicine with TRT/GLP. Along with the functional medicine pricing, the TRT/GLP-1 will cost $300/month ($600/year in savings)
Is This for You?
- You’re a good candidate if you:
- Feel persistently tired or unmotivated
- Struggle to lose weight — especially belly fat
- Have low libido or changes in sexual performance
- Experience mood swings or poor recovery from workouts
- Have insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or cravings
- Want to optimize your hormones and your metabolism — not just mask symptoms

How does Functional Medicine apply to Depression?
Functional medicine takes a holistic and personalized approach to treating depression by addressing the root causes rather than just managing symptoms. While neurotransmitters play a crucial role in the management of depression, there are other issues that can occur in the body that lead to neurotransmitter imbalances. Here’s how cortisol balancing, gastrointestinal (GI) management, and organic acid testing fit into this strategy:
1. Cortisol Balancing (HPA Axis Support)
Chronic stress and imbalanced stress hormone (cortisol) levels can contribute to depression. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis dysfunction may manifest as fatigue, anxiety, or mood disorders due to hyperactivity of the sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system. Elevated cortisol can also lead to weight gain, slowed metabolism, suppressed immune system, insomnia, osteoporosis, muscle breakdown, and sex hormone/ thyroid hormone dysfunction.
Approach:
- Testing: Measure cortisol and DHEA levels through saliva to evaluate daily cortisol rhythms and to establish the level of dysfunction is present.
- Lifestyle Interventions: Encourage stress management techniques such as mindfulness, yoga, healthy sleep, exercise, appropriate light exposure, and breathing exercises.
- Supplemental Support: DHEA and Pregnenolone can be used to restore the adequate building blocks needed for steroid hormone production. Phos-Serine can be used to lower cortisol. Licorice root can raise cortisol. Adaptogenic herbs like ashwagandha, rhodiola, and holy basil to modulate cortisol levels.
- Diet: Stabilize blood sugar levels with high-protein and fiber-rich meals. Reducing sugar and refined carbs is crucial.
- Sleep: Ensure proper sleep hygiene to support circadian rhythm regulation.
2. GI Management (Gut-Brain Axis)
The gut and brain are closely connected through the gut-brain axis. Dysbiosis, leaky gut, and inflammation in the gut can trigger or worsen depressive symptoms. Over 90% of our body’s serotonin is produced in the gut. So when there is dysfunction in the GI system, the central nervous system will also suffer. Dietary choices are crucially important in mood/ behavior.
Approach:
- Testing: Stool testing to assess gut microbiota balance, inflammation markers, and digestive enzyme function.
- Dietary Interventions:
- Increase prebiotic, polyphenols, and probiotic foods (fermented foods, fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, brightly colored fruits and vegetable).
- Remove common gut irritants like gluten, dairy (if sensitive), and processed foods.
- Use an elimination diet to identify food sensitivities.
- Supplemental Support:
- Probiotics (specific strains like Lactobacillus rhamnosus may improve mood)
- Digestive enzymes, zinc, Vit C, L-glutamine for gut healing.
- Lifestyle: Manage stress to maintain gut motility and reduce inflammation. Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to ensure adequate pre/probiotics, fiber, and polyphenols.
3. Organic Acid Testing (OAT)
OAT assesses metabolic markers that can reveal nutritional imbalances, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, toxin burden, and neurotransmitter metabolism issues linked to depression.
Approach:
- Identifying Deficiencies: Low levels of neurotransmitter precursors (like serotonin or dopamine) and nutrient cofactors (vitamin B6, magnesium) can be revealed by OAT.
- Oxidative Stress and Detoxification: High levels of oxidative stress markers (8-OHdG) can guide antioxidant therapy (vitamins C and E, glutathione, methionine, taurine).
- Microbial Overgrowth: Detection of yeast or bacterial metabolites that may impact mental health allows for targeted antimicrobial treatment.
- Supplement Recommendations: Tailor supplements such as amino acids (L-tryptophan, 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine), B vitamins (B6), and cofactors (Magnesium) for neurotransmitter synthesis.
General Functional Medicine Strategies for Depression
- Anti-inflammatory Diet: Mediterranean-style diet rich in antioxidants and omega-3s.
- Nutritional Support: Focus on correcting deficiencies (vitamin D, magnesium, zinc).
- Exercise and Movement: Encourage regular physical activity for mood regulation.
- Mind-Body Techniques: Incorporate mindfulness, counseling, and therapy.
- Personalized Care: Continual monitoring and adjustment based on individual response.
